York Ebor odds
With Epsom and Royal Ascot completed for another year, the next big stop on horse racing’s flat calendar is the Ebor meeting at York. Punters will be able to get involved in York Ebor odds for four days every summer, typically in mid-to-late August. Group One contests are present on three of the four days, with the other hosting the Ebor Handicap, which is the race the whole meeting is named after.
Consider Derby odds for Juddmonte International
The first day of the York Ebor meeting has the Juddmonte International as its standout feature. Horses to have been towards the head of the Derby odds have a great record in the race in recent years, with Authorized, Sea The Stars and Rip Van Winkle among the latest winners. Other Group races to take place on the opening day of the festival are the Great Voltigeur Stakes and the Acomb Stakes.
Day two includes Ebor Handicap odds
Stamina is the name of the game for the highlight of the second day of the York Ebor meeting as the starring attraction is the Ebor Handicap. Run over 1m6f, the race is the most valuable flat handicap in Europe. Elsewhere, on the day two card for York are the Gimcrack Stakes, which is a two-year-old sprint, and the Lonsdale Cup, which is another stamina test over 2m and is often contended by the same horses who also enter the Doncaster Cup.
Yorkshire Oaks also on the Ebor bill
Two further Group One races are contested at the Ebor meeting, with the most notable being the Yorkshire Oaks. Open to fillies and mares, Midday, Islington and Lush Lashes are among the latest victors. The other Group One is the Nunthorpe Stakes and brings together the ultimate sprinters over 5f. The Lowther Stakes and the Strensall Stakes are other races which will be popular for punters searching for York Ebor odds.
