Italy Rugby Odds
Italy made the Five Nations the Six Nations in 2000 and have found life every bit as hard as they surely expected it to be.
Despite heading into most tournaments with the ambition of simply avoiding the Wooden Spoon, Italy rugby odds are still very tempting.
They have sprung a few surprises through the years and the Italy rugby odds on them doing it again are well worth keeping an eye on…
Italy are becoming more competitive and are now a threat
After being on the receiving end of some heavy defeats when they first entered the Six Nations, Italy have grown in stature as a rugby nation.
Their best performance so far came in 2007 when they finished fourth in the table in front of Wales and Scotland.
After opening with defeats against France and England it looked as though it was set to be the same old story for the Azzurri.
However, a brilliant 37-17 win against a dismal Scottish side at Murrayfield and a controversial win in Italy against the Welsh saw them record their best ever Six Nations finish.
They have finished bottom of the table in every tournament since then, but in 2011 showed their giant-killing credentials once again with a shock 22-21 win over France, largely thanks to the boot of Mirco Bergamasco.
With Italy growing in stature and confidence all the time, the Italy rugby odds on them providing a few more shocks in the years to come are well worth investigating.
They should be backed against in the World Cup though
While they continue to get better in the Six Nations and consistently run teams close, in the Rugby World Cup they are still a fair way behind the more established rugby nations.
Having never made it out of the group stages, backing against Italy in the World Cup could lead to a lucrative payout.
