Fed Cup odds

Since the inaugural championship back in 1963, the Fed Cup has grown into the premiere team tournament for women tennis players.

Despite it being staged in a different country each year, in recent years it has been dominated by one continent in particular…

Fed Cup odds on a European winner are well worth checking out

The United States are the most successful team in the history of the event and have won an incredible 17 titles since the tournament was first played in 1963.

However, they haven’t won the tournament since 2000 – despite making a further three final appearances – and the tournament has been dominated by European teams for the past decade.

Since the USA last won the competition, Belgium, Slovakia, France, Russia (4) and Italy (3) have all gone on to win the tournament.

With European women’s tennis players continuing to show they can best the USA, backing a European team in the Fed Cup odds could be well worth a punt.

The Fed Cup odds on Italy are always worth keeping an eye on

Francesca Schiavone has upped her game considerably in recent years – to the extent that she won the 2010 French Open – and, with her continuing to play for Italy, they look set to be major challengers for many years to come.

Italy’s first title came in 2006 and since then have made a further three finals, winning two of them – both against the USA.

They failed to make the final in 2011 after losing out to Russia 5-0 in the semi final but, as the Fed Cup odds show, backing them could lead to a very nice payday.
