Euro 08 Players

The 2008 UEFA European Football Championship was a chance for many of the worlds top players to shine and, one of those whose reputation preceded him was Cristiano Ronaldo. Fernando Torres was a revelation at Liverpool last year and Spanish manager Luis Aragonés will be pleased that the former Atlético Madrid striker gave 110%, as well as scoring a couple of Euro 08 goals as his side won the tournament. Arsenal playmaker Cesc Fabregas chipped in with useful cameo's despite not starting every game and the influential youngster was pivotal in helping to orchestrate Spain's Euro 08 tournament win.

Robin van Persie

Although he had struggled with an injury at Arsenal all season, Robin van Persie was fully fit and looked likely to spearhead a hungry team of Dutch Euro 08 players in their campaign against Euro 08 teams Italy, France and Romania – the ‘Group of Death’! Holland were the revelation of said group but came unstuck and were sent home early.
